The Martinson Group

We only breed litters occasionally and we normally have a waiting list for our puppies. Please see our Litters page for our future breeding plans.

Our puppies are whelped in our bedroom and raised with a lot of love. They are well socialized from birth both with people and our adult dogs. The puppies stay in the house exclusively until they are four weeks old and then start spending as much time outside as possible for playtime. This gets them used to a myriad of different sights, sounds, smells, footing, etc., not to mention they can burn off lots of that BC energy! Around this time they also start to sleep in a pen in our kitchen area as this is where all the household action seems to happen. I also encourage prospective puppy owners to come visit the litter as often as possible starting when the puppies are four weeks old. We put a great deal of time and effort into raising our litters as we want them to be an intregal part of any family they are placed with.

Puppies have dewclaws removed, have been wormed, given first shots and a vet exam prior to going to their new homes. They are also temperament tested and structurally evaluated to see how well they meet the breed standard at eight weeks of age. We do CERF eye testing on all our puppies by seven weeks of age. In addition, we CERF and OFA/PennHip certify our breeding stock as well as do thyroid testing.

Please ask whichever breeder you choose about the health background of their breeding stock and animals they have bred. This is very important in any dog you purchase. Ask to see documentation of health testing. A reputable breeder will be happy to discuss this with you and show you their dogs' health clearance.
